Tough Decision, 1.1

Steps 1, Defining my decision;   I have an important personal decision to make in the next two weeks.  My sister is getting married and I need to lose 5 pounds before the wedding.  I want to look beautiful, healthy and fit.  I will be wearing a stunning black brides grown and will be in a tremendous amount of photos.

Step 2, Considering the possible choices;  I can eat two very small meals each day or I can do 30 minutes of cardio and eat three medium meals a day.  Last alternative is to just eat one large meal a day and drink an exhausting amount of water to help fill the stomach so it doesn’t growl for hunger.

Sept 3,  Pros and Cons;  Eating two small meals a day will ensure the weight to come of but I will not have much energy throughout the day.  Doing cardio thirty minutes a day and eating three medium meals a day will also ensure the extra weight to come off.  The down fall is I have to take time out of my already busy schedule to make sure I accomplish this.  There can be no excuses like, just 15 minutes on the couch then I will do my cardio.  My last idea was eating one large meal a day and drinking plenty of water to fill my stomach.  If I decide to go with this idea I would yes get to my goal however, I would be starving my body. In doing this I might not get to my goal because I might over eat when it was time to eat.

Step 4, My best choice;  30 minutes of cardio and eat three medium meals a day.

Step 5, My plan of action and monitoring my results;  Make a list of three meals each day I will be eating along with what time of day I will do my cardio.  As I go along the days I will modify what I enjoy eating and increasing my cardio on a daily basis.

  1. Hi Michelle coming from a medical standpoint did you see a physician before deciding to do 30 minutes of cardio and cutting back calories ? I see that you only wanted to drop 5 pounds. My question: is 5 pounds really going to make you a different person or really make the dress look any better on you then I am sure it already does ? Cardiovascular workouts should be supported by a physician and I am not sure starting out at 30 minutes would be healthy if you have never done it or do cardio workouts on a regular bases. I am not an expert with Nutrition but maybe just cutting back a few calories and maybe just a nice walk in the evening would eliminate the weight and I am sure would help relieve some of the stress of the wedding plans. Good luck. My son just got married and I know what it was like to worry about the weight and pictures.

  2. Hey Michelle!
I can say that I don't know exactly where you are coming from on this since it is not one of those things I worry about, however, my wife does. She is constantly worrying about putting on weight, especially when certain events come around. Some of the things I remember my wife talking about from her research is to make sure you are drinking water no matter what you do, sincethe water helps to flush toxins out of the body. She also talked about not starving your body because that can make your body actually hold on to weight and not the other way around. She also talked about these body firming wraps that you can get at some good day spas that can help to get rid of some extra inches. Again, I'm not a fitness expert by any means, but my wife has done a lot of research on things and has tried lots of different things (though she doesn't need it), so maybe those ideas might be of use to you. Have a good day.

Hope you post a pictureafter the event, I'm sure you will look super.

  4. Dear Michelle,
I would like to offer a few suggestions to you on how to go about losing 5 pounds. I think one way to lost 5 pounds would be to drink lots of water. Another way would be to eat small meals and take a 30-minute walk each day. I enjoyed reading your blog, and hope that the suggestions that I made will help in losing the 5 pounds that you want to lose.
